How Can I Improve a Single Stained Tooth?

Stained teeth are a common dental concern that can occur due to certain lifestyle habits, long-term consumption of foods and beverages that contain staining agents, or even just the natural aging process. If you’re looking to improve a single stained tooth or multiple teeth affected by discoloration, the dentists at Scottsdale Smile Center offer a variety of treatments that can provide effective solutions. From whitening options to porcelain veneers, our team can restore the appearance of your teeth so your smile can be virtually stain-free.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a popular cosmetic dental improvement option that can be an ideal choice for particularly deep and severe stains. Made of thin, durable material, porcelain veneers are bonded to the front and sides of a tooth to conceal stains or other aesthetic imperfections. These customized restorations are designed to match the color of your adjacent teeth for a natural appearance.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a common solution for stained teeth. At Scottsdale Smile Center, there are two teeth whitening treatment options: Opalescence® Boost Teeth Whitening by Ultradent and Opalescence® Take-Home Teeth Whitening.

Opalescence® Boost Teeth Whitening is an in-office treatment that involves a chemically activated formula. This means that a hot and potentially uncomfortable light (which is a common component of other types of professional whitening treatments) is not necessary to activate the whitening agent. Instead, the gel solution will be applied, wiped off after about 20 minutes, then the process is repeated at least once more for the best results.

Opalescence® Take-Home Teeth Whitening allows you to whiten your teeth on your own schedule. With the custom-fit trays and advanced whitening gel, most patients wear the appliances while they sleep. In most cases, this technique takes approximately two to four weeks for improved results.

Dental Bonding

Along with chips, gaps, and misalignment, cosmetic dental bonding addresses tooth discoloration. A durable tooth-colored resin material is applied to the stained tooth and sculpted to the desired shape. This treatment can conceal discoloration and provide long-lasting, natural-looking results.

CEREC® Crowns

A tooth with severe discoloration can be enhanced with a CEREC® dental crown. This state-of-the-art advancement in dentistry allows our cosmetic dentists to craft a digital impression of your tooth and create a restoration that will fit over the entire tooth, significantly enhancing its appearance. Thanks to CEREC® milling technology, this process happens onsite here at our office, which can help many patients obtain their custom crowns in a single office visit.
