You will be treated to an on-time appointment and amenities such as headphones, digital monitors, and warm blankets. Total comfort is our goal for you. Our state of the art facility is warm and inviting in attitude and atmosphere.

TECHNOLOGY: At Scottsdale Smile Center, we invest diligently in the most technologically advanced equipment and biocompatible materials. We utilize digital diagnostics and information systems and laser technology for diagnosis and treatment. Intra- and extraoral photography is used extensively for communication and enhancement. Our doctors are in the forefront of CAD/CAM dentistry and we are continuously striving to use new technology to make your visits easier, safer, and better.

STERILIZATION: Rigorous hygiene standards are maintained for your safety and peace of mind. At Scottsdale Smile Center only purified distal water is used throughout the office. We meet or exceed CDC and ADA guidelines for cleaning and sterilizing all equipment, instruments, and surfaces. Our sterilization facilities are unequaled. For additional safety, our sterilizers are monitored by outside independent laboratories. We use disposable items whenever possible and personal protective equipment for each and every patient.

CEREC®

We create the majority of the porcelain restorations in our office using the CEREC system. CEREC has revolutionized the way we treat our patients. This high-tech equipment allows us to provide beautiful, stronger, natural-looking restorations in a single visit appointment. No more impressions going to an outside lab, no temporaries, no repeat visits and best of all, the procedure enables us to conserve much more of your natural tooth.

Computer Guided Surgery

The use of Computerized Tomography (CT Scans) combined with specialized Simplant computer software provide a huge advancement in implant dentistry. Simplant software allows Dr. Coombs and Dr. Chaippetti to evaluate each potential implant site on a computer to ensure that the site is ready for implant placement.

Computer guided placement of dental implants provides maximum safety to avoid nerves, sinuses and other vital structures and maximum accuracy in implant placement within the bone. Dr. Coombs and Dr . Chaippetti found this process to be extremely beneficial to their patients.

Digital X-rays

How do digital x-rays benefit you? For the first time in the 100-year history of dental X-rays (radiography), an extraordinary new technology surpasses the diagnostic abilities of traditional film. It does so with substantially less radiation exposure to you--and us. This system has truly amazing diagnostic tools, making the image quality simply unmatched.

Lockheed Martin, the aerospace manufacturer of the Magellan Venus Spacecraft and the Hubble Telescope designed the digital X-ray sensor that is the heart of this technology. The sensor is very special as it has a uniquely shaped design for your optimum comfort. No more sharp edges like the old film had. This allows for increased positioning accuracy.

This system allows for the ability to instantly produce the very best possible diagnosis and produces up to 90% less radiation.

Intra-oral Cameras

The intraoral camera is a tiny video camera the size of a pen designed to capture images within the mouth and display them on a nearby computer monitor. Since the camera magnifies images within the mouth, the doctors can more clearly see tiny irregularities that could be missed with an unaided visual inspection. This technique also provides you, the patient, a close up view of your teeth enabling you to see the current status of your mouth.

Laser Gum Recontouring

Lasers offer tremendously powerful treatment options in the dental office. They can be used for recontouring gum tissue to achieve a more esthetic appearance. Lasers are also used to provide care for patients undergoing periodontal treatment.

Sonicare®

The Sonicare® toothbrush uses ultrasonic technology as well as mechanical movement to remove plague and bacteria. It uses a microprocessor to create 31,000 brush sweeps per minute. By combining high-frequency brushing and sonic waves, it remove plaque even beyond the reach of the bristles. Studies have show that it can remove twice as much plaque as a manual toothbrush. All our patients that have used the Sonicare® love it.
