At our practice you can significantly improve your smile with the help of:

Dental Implants

For individuals who wish to replace missing teeth, dental implants are available at our practice near Phoenix, Arizona and may be an effective long-term solution. Dental implants provide greater structural support and last longer than either bridges or dentures. Dental implants serve as the artificial root to which new teeth are bonded. Dental implants are typically constructed of titanium, a strong and safe material that effectively attaches to bone. The procedure to insert dental implants at our Phoenix, Arizona area practice typically involves three steps: the implant insertion stage, osseointegration (the period of healing for the jawbone), and the attachment of the restoration or new tooth.

Tooth Bonding

A simple way to improve the appearance of your smile without teeth whitening, porcelain veneers or dental implants, cosmetic bonding uses a natural-looking material to fill in gaps between teeth and to repair chips and cracks. Bonding of teeth does not typically require the removal of any tooth structure, making it a good alternative to crowns or porcelain veneers (in some cases). The composite material used for tooth bonding comes in many different shades so it can be matched precisely to the color of your teeth. The result is a natural-looking means of restoring your smile that can be completed in a single appointment.

Dental Bridges

Missing teeth can create a host of aesthetic and functional problems, but bridges can be used to restore health and beauty to your smile. A dental bridge consists of a replacement tooth and two crowns that can be fitted over the adjacent teeth. Bridges can prevent teeth from shifting and improve the appearance of your smile. Dr. Coombs uses tooth-colored bridges for natural-looking results at his practice in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dental Crowns

Damaged and decayed teeth can be effectively restored with tooth-colored crowns. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over your original tooth, restoring health and strength. Dr. Coombs uses crowns matched to your natural tooth color, which improve your smile's appearance as well as your dental health. Crowns can be used to whiten, reshape, and realign teeth as well as to repair damage. We can make custom crowns for you in just two appointments!

White Composite Fillings

Until recently, dentists filled and sealed cavities exclusively using a silver and mercury amalgam. Unfortunately, these fillings (or restorations) often weaken teeth due to the large amount of the original tooth that has to be removed. Modern dentistry has increasingly turned to composite fillings as a strong, safe and more natural looking alternative. Composite fillings utilize a soft white plastic substance that includes a hardening agent.

Inlays and Onlays

Replacing large fillings on back teeth often require a stronger and properly contoured restoration. These are called inlays or onlays depending on their size. These restorations need to be custom-made at an off-site dental lab and two visits may be required. Once the dental office receives the custom inlay or onlay, the patient returns to the dentist’s office, where they are bonded into place. Onlays protect teeth similarly as crowns but conserve more natural tooth structure. Onlays should provide decades of service.

Our office has performed thousands of successful inlay and onlay procedures.
