Dr. Coombs says the new technology offers several benefits to patient comfort and more accurate planning for dental implants and other procedures.

As a Scottsdale cosmetic dentist, Dr. Coombs will be introducing the cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanner to his patient services to help increase comfort and efficiency during dental treatment. With a radiation dose one hundred times lower than regular CT scanners, the new cone beam technology offers patients safer and faster image-taking. Dr. Coombs says he is excited about the new device and hopes it helps promote the most positive dental experience possible for patients at his practice.

Through the use of a cone shaped X-ray beam, Dr. Coombs says the imaging device offers a smaller size machine, lower radiation dosages, and a quicker procedure. Most commonly used for diagnostic purposes, he says he hopes to use the cone beam CT scan for dental implants in Phoenix, helping him achieve the most accurate placement and positioning possible.
